Children's Day Celebrations
SAADA PUNJAB CAMPAIGN LENDS GAIETY TO CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATIONS AT KVM WITH DAADI NAANI KI RASOI
Children’ Day was celebrated at Kundan Vidya Mandir, Ludhiana with a unique flavour. As part of its Premier project SAADA PUNJAB PYAARA PUNJAB, the grandmother’s of Kundanites acquainted the students and teachers with forgotten glimpses of Punjabi cuisine by setting up food stalls in their Daadi Naani ki Rasoi.
Kundanites tasted authentic Punjabi food recipes like Churi, Phirni, Chole Kulche, Pinning, Rajma Chawal, Kadhi Chawal, Stuffed Parathas, Dahi Bhalle, Mathian, Lassi, Kanji Vada etc. Some modern variations of the traditional food recipes like Baked Mithi Roti were also put up by the grandmother’s to entice today’s generation to their stalls.
It was a day full of fun and frolic as students took part in various races in the school grounds like Bursting the balloon, book balancing, lemon and spoon race etc. and then ate from these stalls and enjoyed movies from International Kids Film Festival which were shown to them in the school auditorium.
According to School Principal Mr. A. P. Sharma, “We wish to imbibe a love of Punjab in our students from a very young age by making them aware of their rich cultural heritage while ensuring they enjoy their special day. We are thankful to all the Grandmother’s who showed such enthusiasm and participated in such large numbers to make this celebration such a great success.”
